  • How to find percentages
You need to pay attention to the direction of the inequality. You either add or takeaway from both sides.
< = Less than
> = Greater than
The less than or equal to sign is like the less than sign but it has a line underneath. The greater than or equal to sign is like the greater than sign but it has a line underneath.

EG1) x - 2 > 5
           
+2     +2
        
x > 7 or bigger

EG2)  2x + 5 > 7
             
-5       -5
         
  2x > 2
           x   > 1

EG3)    5b + 4 > 74 - 2b
               +
2b         +2b
               
7b + 4 > 74
                
-4           -4
               
7b  > 70
                   b > 10
